Friday Faves

Well, the big event is here. Very early tomorrow morning, we take Kieran on his first airplane ride! I’m equally excited and nervous about it.

It’s a short flight (just under 1.5 hours) and we’re flying in and out of smaller airports, so that should help the whole process. I definitely feel over-prepared, which is how I like things. That’s when I’m most comfortable.

I am a chronic over-packer and this trip is certainly no different. We have two massive (like, obscenely huge) suitcases packed to the brim for the three of us, plus a couple larger personal item bags for the flight. Plus a stroller. Plus a carseat. Yeah, traveling with a baby/toddler is NO JOKE. Luckily, it feeds right into my planning nature, so it wasn’t as stressful to me as it might have been for other people. My focus is to just get through the flight without our very opinionated little guy having a total meltdown. I think we can do it.

Otherwise, I’m really looking forward to relaxing and seeing family. Spending time with Kieran is so special, and I can’t wait to watch some of his grandparents/extended family interact with him. It’s a treat, for sure!

Speaking of treats, look at all the amazing yumminess on the webs this week…. O. M. G.

This watermelon and herb cocktail (with pickled watermelon rind!) sounds like the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

This hazelnut chocolate chip ice cream looks creamy and dreamy. I’ll take two scoops!

I love the idea of amping up breakfast with this avocado, bacon, and egg toast with tomato jam (!!!). My husband and I had tomato jam on a breakfast sandwich years ago and loved the combo of flavors.

This whiskey peach alexander cocktail is so lovely. I have a ton of peaches to use up…thinking this might be just the trick.

So, these choose your own adventure bloody marys make my heart flutter. I am a huge bloody mary fan, especially when they are garnished with the whole world. This is SUCH a fun idea!

This blueberry crisp sounds (and looks!) so good. Blueberries are my husband’s fav berry, so I may need to do this one once we’re back from our trip.

Speaking of blueberries: blueberry cardamom coffee cake! Yes. Incredible.

This late summer tomato and shrimp risotto is making me drool. Big time.

This plum and burrata flatbread looks like summer meal perfection.

Another perfect summer meal is this shaved zucchini and summer fruit salad. That has my name written all over it.

Oh, and in case you missed it, I shared these biscuits with PISTACHIO BUTTER (!!!) and this incredibly delicious summer ramen (I want all the corn) this week. Highly recommend you check those both out!

I’ll still be posting a couple Labor Day inspired recipes for you all next week while on vaycay, but I’ll probably skip my Friday Faves post. I’ll make up for it double the following week!

Xoxo! Happy Friday (and early Labor Day!), friends!
