Maple Blackberry Matcha Lattes

  • Author: Molly
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving (with extra syrup; easily multiplied) 1x

Description

These Maple Blackberry Matcha Lattes are a lovely at-home alternative to your favorite coffee shop creation. Sweet and bright from fresh blackberries and warm and cozy from the maple syrup – these are delicious iced or hot and are simple to make at home!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Maple Blackberry Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

For One Latte:

  • 1 serving of prepared matcha tea (following the package directions)
  • 4 oz milk of choice, chilled or steamed (depending on if want a hot or iced latte)
  • 1 tablespoon maple blackberry syrup (or more/less to taste)
  • Whipped cream, optional garnish
  • Fresh blackberries, optional garnish

Instructions

For the Maple Blackberry Syrup:

  1. To a medium pot, add the berries, water, and syrup. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook, gently mashing the berries, for about 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and then pour the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer, pressing on the berry solids to get as much juice as possible. Discard the solids.

For One Latte:

  1. Prepare your matcha according to the package directions.
  2. If you are doing an iced latte, pour the prepared matcha over ice. Top off with chilled milk and the maple blackberry syrup, stirring gently to combine. Top off with a dollop of whipped cream and a couple berries for garnish. Enjoy!
  3. If you prefer a hot latte, pour the matcha into a mug and stir in the syrup to combine. Steam your milk of choice before adding it to the matcha (I use my trusted Nespresso frother for this), and stir gently to combine. Top off with a dollop of whipped cream and a couple berries for garnish. Enjoy!

Notes

I love using Pique Sun Goddess matcha. It is ceremonial grade, tastes delicious, and comes in very convenient individual packets that are easy to prepare. Feel free to use your favorite kind of matcha! There are so many wonderful ones available.
