Amaretto Orange White Russians

  • Author: Molly
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 cocktails (easily multiplied) 1x

Description

These Amaretto Orange White Russians are a fun twist on a classic cocktail. Fresh orange and amaretto liqueur add warmth and sweet nuttiness to these cocktails. These are a true crowd pleaser!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (2-inch) orange peels
  • 2 oz coffee liqueur (recommended: Kahlua)
  • 1.5 oz amaretto liqueur (recommended: Disaronno)
  • 2 dashes of angostura bitters (or any orange bitters)
  • 3 oz vodka
  • 2 oz heavy cream
  • Orange peels
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Add the pieces of orange peel to a cocktail shaker. Use a muddler or the handle of a wooden spoon to gently smash the orange rind until it is fragrant.
  2. Fill the shaker with ice and add the kahlua, amaretto, bitters, and vodka. Shake vigorously for a few seconds to mix well and chill the ingredients. At this point, I like to taste the mixture and add additional kahlua or bitters (I strongly believe that cocktails should be a “to taste” situation).
  3. Strain the mixture between two rocks glasses filled with ice.
  4. Drizzle the heavy cream into each glass, dividing it evenly. Stir to combine the ingredients and serve immediately, garnished with additional orange peels.
