Description

These Buffalo Chicken Ranch Cheese Fries are the tailgating snack of my dreams! Crispy, ranch-seasoned fries topped with spicy buffalo chicken, cheese, and ranch dressing – all buffalo chicken fans will flip for these! Perfect for the big game spread.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Ranch Fries:

  • 1 (32-oz) package frozen french fries (use your favorite!)
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil (or any neutral-flavored oil)
  • 1 tablespoon dried ranch seasoning
  • Pinch of salt and pepper

For the Chicken:

  • 1 teaspoon avocado or olive oil
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/3 cup buffalo hot sauce

For the Toppings:

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or jack cheese (or a combo)
  • 1/2 cup chopped scallions
  • Ranch dressing, for drizzling
  • Additional buffalo hot sauce, for drizzling
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (skip if you don’t like blue cheese)

Instructions

For the Ranch Fries:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F and spread the fries out in an even layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Drizzle over the oil and then sprinkle over the ranch seasoning, salt, and pepper. Using your hands, toss the fries well to coat in the seasoning.
  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or according to the package directions, until the fries are crispy and golden.
  4. While the fries bake, prepare the chicken and other toppings.

For the Chicken:

  1. In a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts, seasoning with a little salt and pepper, and cook for 5 minutes per side.
  2. Add the butter to the pan and allow it to melt. Stir in the buffalo sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, turning the chicken occasionally to coat in the buffalo sauce.
  3. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly before shredding or chopping. Make sure to toss the shredded chicken with any residual buffalo sauce from the pan.

To Assemble:

  1. Once the fries are done, layer the buffalo chicken, cheeses, and half the scallions over the fries.
  2. Return the tray to the oven for 5 minutes or until the cheese is gooey and melted.
  3. Remove from the oven and top with the remaining scallions, a drizzle of ranch dressing, a drizzle of buffalo sauce, and blue cheese crumbles (if using).
  4. Serve immediately while everything is hot. I like to serve this with additional ranch and buffalo sauce on the side for dipping.
