Description

This Bang Bang Shrimp Dip is a spicy-sweet sensation bursting with shrimp and creamy goodness. Think your favorite restaurant appetizer in hot dip form. Easy to make and incredibly delicious – this is a crowd-pleasing appetizer for sure!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (any size shrimp will work)
  • 1 (8-oz) block cream cheese, softened (I used reduced fat — you can’t tell a difference!)
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt (I used 2%)
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha hot sauce
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Scallions, for garnish
  • Toasted baguette or crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8 x 8-inch baking dish or pie plate.
  2. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium and add the shrimp. Season with a little salt and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the shrimp are cooked through.
  3. Remove the shrimp from the heat to cool while you prepare the rest of the dip.
  4. In a mixing bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese, mayo, yogurt, chili sauce, Sriracha, vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season the mixture with salt and pepper, to taste.
  5. Chop up the cooled shrimp into bite-sized pieces and then stir the shrimp into the dip.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with the panko breadcrumbs.
  7. Transfer the baking dish to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top and bubbly around the edges.
  8. Garnish the dip with chopped scallions. Serve while hot with toasted baguette slices and/or crackers.

Notes

To prep this ahead of time: assemble the dip completely and cover well. Store in the fridge until you are ready to bake it. Remove from the fridge while the oven preheats and then bake as directed — adding a few minutes to the baking time.
