Description

I’m declaring this Limoncello Berry Hugo Spritz the drink of the summer! It is light, bright, lemony, and a touch sweet with notes of fresh mint and elderflower liqueur. It is super refreshing, and I can’t stop making it. Everything you want in an easy summer cocktail!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish
  • 1/2 oz elderflower liqueur
  • 1/2 oz limoncello
  • Ice
  • 1/4 cup frozen mixed berries (not defrosted – keep frozen)
  • 2 lemon slices
  • 4 oz prosecco
  • Splash of sparkling water

Instructions

  1. To a wine glass, add the mint and elderflower liqueur. Gently muddle the mint leaves.
  2. Add the limoncello and then the ice and frozen mixed berries.
  3. Top off with the prosecco, then the sparkling water. Gently stir to combine all the ingredients and then garnish with lemon slices and another sprig of mint. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • I have made this cocktail both with and without the mint – it is delicious either way! The mint is key in a traditional hugo spritz, but just know that this will taste wonderful without it. Mint is optional!
  • You can use any berry here you like. Frozen is nice because it helps keep the drink cold and will infuse the drink more slowly with berry flavor.
  • Recipe lightly adapted from Juilianna McIntosh.
