It’s not secret that I do not have a green thumb. I kill just about everything I attempt to grow. My summer herb pots are the only thing I’ve been successful with, and even those have some touch-and-go moments. I am just NOT gifted in gardening. Which is shocking because my mother is amazing at it. It’s a true passion of hers.
Despite my shortcomings, I’m attempting some peonies and hydrangea this year. The rhododendron pictured above have been in our yard since before we bought this house; they’re sturdy and seem to thrive without me doing anything to them (aka, they’re my kinda plant). They’re gorgeous. Keep me in your gardening thoughts and prayers with the other stuff, though. Lord knows I need all the help I can get.
In other news, my sister and her boyfriend are visiting this weekend! I’ve got lots of fun food planned, including a special appetizer spread for the Preakness tomorrow afternoon. I’ll also be whipping up a batch of these gin spritzers for my sister and me. She’s going to love them.
Below are my weekly favorites. Lots of desserts on the list this week. All the gorgeous spring produce is speaking to all food bloggers right now. I’m down.
This Coconut Panna Cotta with Blackberry, Thyme, & Gin Compote…are you serious? Amazing.
This Blueberry Lemon Bundt Cake is not only gorgeous, but I am seriously craving it alongside a honkin’ cup of creamy coffee. This may need to happen…now.
These Ice Cream Sandwich Cookies are happening. Probably this weekend.
These Spicy Sesame Zoodles with Crispy Tofu look incredible. Crisped is just about the only way I like tofu, and zoodles are always a good choice.
This Marsala Pound Cake sounds so lovely. Love the crumb!
This Fresh Mint Limeade looks incredibly refreshing. Love the choice of limes over lemons!
This Gnocchi with Roasted Cauliflower and Chicken looks so mouthwatering. A must try!
Around here: an insane lobster poutine and the most luscious lemon ice cream ever! Happy Friday, friends! Enjoy your weekend!
