Hi, guys! This week has definitely been a transitional one for me. I’m slowly letting go of summer and running (no, sprinting) into the cozy arms of fall. And I’m not apologizing for it!
This is, hands down, my most favorite time of year. I love all the seasons for different reasons, but fall is extra special. While I’m sad to see my summer tan fade away and the peach, corn, and tomato season come to a close, I am definitely ready for buffalo chicken everything (for football!) and butternut squash prepared 140 different ways. Give me all the pumpkin coffee and cinnamon-sugar coated baked goods.
You can see my shift happening in my recipes, too. I shared these cold brew popsicles on Monday and this insanely comforting, not-short-on-the-cheese one-pot chorizo tortellini yesterday. See? The transition is definitely happening, people. In fact, I’ve already made and photographed about six recipes that are definitely more fall centric than anything else. Pumpkin may be making its first appearance of the season in a couple weeks. I’m going to try and hold out until October, though! So don’t hate me.
Dan and I are throwing Kieran a 2nd birthday party in a couple weeks (WHAT?! Ugh.), so this weekend we’re focusing on a bunch of yard work and prep, and thankfully the weather is supposed to be gorgeous! High 70s, low humidity, abundant sunshine. Gosh, have I mentioned how much I love this time of year?
Anyway. The fall transition is happening all over the place. I’m clearly not the only food blogger who has been bitten by the pumpkin bug. Look at all of this incredible food! If you need me, I’ll be here, drowning in my own drool.
This cardamom spiced whole wheat apple cake with honey caramel is stunningly gorgeous. And sounds PERFECT.
Um, puff pastry cookies and cream donuts?! Is this real life?
And then there’s these espresso brownie sandwich cookies! Dessert perfection.
I’m loving these za’atar grilled chicken bulgar bowls with tahini for a healthy dinner.
These chocolate banana creme brûlée muffins are breakfast perfection. I am totally making these.
This fig and vanilla bean jam sounds so easy and delicious. I just bought some figs, too. Destiny?
This spicy green soup is so pretty and sounds heavenly. I am so excited soup season is here!
This honey lavender granola is so creative and those pictures….I’m dying over here.
This tomato pie with basil, parmesan, and cornmeal looks the perfect way to use up those fleeting summer tomatoes. LOVE this idea.
I desperately want to make mussels at home. These beer-steamed ones with fennel, saffron, and preserved lemon look like such a fun, unique twist!
This late summer succotash with white bean puree and brown butter is screaming my name. Look at that puree! Seriously swooning over here.
And with that, I leave you. Have a fabulous weekend and HAPPY FRIDAY, friends! Xoxo!
