Hi, friends! How was your week? What are your plans for this weekend? Can you believe the first week of October is done already?! I can’t. I can’t deal. Although, these gingery pumpkin shandies aren’t hurting things.
Let’s get deep for a hot second.
Ever since having a child (and yes, I’ve talked about this at length before), I have made a more conscious effort to savor each moment/day/week/season as it goes by. And while this has been a very joyful perspective, it also leaves me with a stronger sense of nostalgia. I find myself savoring each day to the point that I mourn it when it is over. Does that make sense? Not to get too meloncholy on this week’s Friday Faves, hah, but it’s been weighing on me lately. Like, what’s the “right” balance? How do we soak up each moment of each day without it becoming a burden? How do I celebrate the fact that my now 2-year-old is growing older by the minute and becoming this wonderful little person without feeling sad that the past two years FLEW by? There are too many feelings to feel! I’m sure there is no correct answer, but gosh, it is a struggle for me. To be happy/celebratory and sad at the same time.
Man, being a parent changes so many parts of who you are. More than you even realize, even as it’s happening to you. Cray-cray.
ANYWAY. Enough introspection for today. Onto the good stuff! And man oh man, is there some fantastic stuff out there this week…
These bourbon chai caramel milkshakes….O. M. G. That’s all I have to say.
This broccoli cheddar chicken and dumpling soup is the best of two worlds: broccoli-cheddar soup and chicken and dumplings. WANT.
Isn’t this rose apple pistachio tart the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?!
This bourbon pear scone pull-apart bread looks magnificent. I love baked goods with pears (often underrated in apple-everything season).
These mango and coconut granola bars look just perfect. Adore that flavor combo!
These funfetti cupcakes are just adorable (and are perfect for celebrating just about anything…like, the fact that it’s Friday. #justsayin’)
Not only do these steaks with caper relish look INSANE but I love the message in this post. It all rings so very true in my life.
This chai-spiced almond hazelnut butter is so up my alley. I love making nut butter at home (especially for Kieran), and this one is next on my list to try!
This roasted cauliflower pasta looks amazing. Perfect for a cozy night in with big glass of wine!
This chocolate chip peanut butter banana bread combines three of my fav things in one. Genius!
And last but not least, this sundried tomato pizza with sausage + roasted garlic has my mouth watering. Hard. So much flavor!
Happy Friday, friends! Let’s make it a good one! Xoxo.
