Hi, Friends! How was your Halloween? Are you in a post-sugar-high low?
All things considered, I kept my candy consumption somewhat in check this year. It helps that I have a 2-year-old who doesn’t have the patience, interest, or attention span for trick or treating all night, so we only went to a handful of houses. We also live on a stand-alone cul-de-sac, so we don’t get a ton of Halloween traffic, which means that I don’t have to buy obscene amounts of candy for home. The candy haul was light this year, and I’m totally fine with that.
We have a semi-busy weekend coming up. I have a baby shower for a dear friend of mine, and some casual football plans with friends, PLUS my sister and her boyfriend are visiting. All good things. Next week, I’m traveling to Chicago for work and will have a super-busy week, for sure. Then…we’re in the homestretch for Thanksgiving. What?!?! I’m not hosting this year, so some of the pressure is off, but I am still going to bring side dishes or dessert to my parents’ house. What are you guys making this year? Anything new and exciting?
On that note, the food blog world is already exploding with Thanksgiving goodness. Here are some of my recent faves:
OK, so this is the second time in a month that I’m linking to ideas for a wine party. I’m thinking I just need to do it. Who wants to come?!
This pumpkin ricotta gnudi with vanilla brown butter sounds too good not to try.
I am SO trying this scratch-made ginger beer concentrate for moscow mules.
Now, these sound so interesting: thai curry oats. How creative!
Um, fried mac and cheese balls?! Yes, please!
I love the idea of cornbread chicken and dumplings. One of the best comfort dishes on earth, with a twist!
This thai pomegranate chicken khao soi noodle soup looks heavenly. So slurp worthy!
These chicken skewers with pumpkin seed sauce looks like weeknight dinner perfection!
This mac and cheese with kimchi sounds incredibly addictive and interesting.
I am definitely going to try out these sweet potato tacos! They are so pretty.
This brown butter roasted pumpkin with ricotta salata looks like the perfect side to that Thanksgiving bird!
And in case you missed it, I shared this INSANE caramelized onion carbonara and brown sugar manhattans this week. Both should totally happen tonight.
Happy Friday, friends! Xoxo.
