Earlier this week, we said goodbye to one of our beloved dogs, Louie. You may know this already if you follow along on Instagram or on my personal Facebook page.
While we are so, so grateful for him and all that he brought to our lives, we are currently living in a state of constant heartache. Our house feels so strange, so empty without him. And so do our hearts.
With that said, I had several fun end-of-summer/Labor Day recipes to share with you all this week, and I am going to hold off until next week. I just can’t, in this state of mind, pretend that everything is OK when it isn’t and proceed with life like we didn’t just lose one of our family members.
I’ll return with your regularly scheduled yumminess next week.
RIP, Louie Manchego. You were our first love, our first baby, and our hearts ache with your absence.
XOXO.

Longtime reader, firsttime commenter. I’ll echo the others and express that I am SO sorry for your loss. A member of the family is a member of the family, whether they have your skin and genes, or a wagging tail and fur. I appreciate your candor; we cannot always “keep calm and carry on” in the name of meeting an editorial calendar. Best wishes…

Thanks so much, Christine. Xoxo
