These Maple Blackberry Matcha Lattes are a lovely at-home alternative to your favorite coffee shop creation. Sweet and bright from fresh blackberries and warm and cozy from the maple syrup – these are delicious iced or hot and are simple to make at home!
I have been on a matcha kick this past year or so.
Admittedly, it was not always something I enjoyed. I have always loved a cup of hot green tea here and there, but the love of matcha eluded me for a long while.
It wasn’t until I started experimenting with it at home that I discovered that I did, in fact, enjoy matcha. Especially when I could make it just the way I like it. I love a matcha latte in the afternoons – it feels like a cozy treat to get me over that late afternoon hump.
These Maple Blackberry Matcha Lattes are just one of many at-home matcha creations I’ve enjoyed. This one is just too good to keep from you.
These lattes are easy to make and taste just as good (if not better) than a matcha latte you might find at your local coffee shop.
These lattes start with an easy homemade syrup made from fresh blackberries and maple syrup. The flavor combination works so well!
Sweet, juicy berries and the warm coziness of maple syrup are a match made in heaven. A matcha made in heaven! Hah.
I like to think this is the perfect drink to ease us from summer to fall – both flavors are represented here. Let’s get into how to make it!
Ingredients You Need to Make These Maple Blackberry Matcha Lattes:
- Fresh blackberries
- Maple syrup
- Water
- Matcha tea — I love using the Pique Sun Goddess matcha packets for ease, but you can use whatever matcha you love
- Milk of choice
- Optional garnishes: whipped cream and additional blackberries
How to Make These Maple Blackberry Matcha Lattes:
For the Maple Blackberry Syrup:
- To a medium pot, add the berries, water, and syrup. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook, gently mashing the berries, for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and then pour the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer, pressing on the berry solids to get as much juice as possible. Discard the solids.
For One Latte:
- Prepare your matcha according to the package directions.
- If you are doing an iced latte, pour the prepared matcha over ice. Top off with chilled milk and the maple blackberry syrup, stirring gently to combine. Top off with a dollop of whipped cream and a couple berries for garnish. Enjoy!
- If you prefer a hot latte, pour the matcha into a mug and stir in the syrup to combine. Steam your milk of choice before adding it to the matcha (I use my trusted Nespresso frother for this), and stir gently to combine. Top off with a dollop of whipped cream and a couple berries for garnish. Enjoy!
