Friday Faves

Hi, Friends! Are you in the middle of a heat wave where you live? We are, big time. It is seriously so gross outside. It feels like you’re walking through a bowl of hot soup, almost to the point where it is hard to breathe because the air feels so thick with moisture. Yuck. I can’t wait for it to break. Keeping a toddler cooped up inside for days on end only results in insanity for all involved. Take it from me.

Anywho. What are you all up to this weekend? The summer feels like it’s rapidly coming to a close. We have our one big vacation planned for the last week in August, which is a great way to cap things off, but I can’t help but feel like I’ve got to cram in all the summer things before then. Because when we come back from that vaycay, it will already be SEPTEMBER! What!? Oy. This whole getting-older-time-goes-faster thing is not fun. Remember when you were a kid and the summer felt like a million years long?! It was the best. Now, I feel like May to September goes by in a freaking blink. Maybe it’s because we’re having so much fun? Yeah, let’s just go with that.

Before I get into my list of weekly faves, I just want to say (for the hundredth time) that this cold brew seriously made my summer. I make it weekly (I strain mine through a paper coffee filter set in a mesh strainer — I don’t keep cheesecloth readily on hand), and not only is it ridiculously easy, it is DELICIOUS. Plus, it makes a huge batch that lasts me most of the week. It’s been awesome.

Also, I cannot get enough of these pomegranate chocolates. I discovered them about a year ago, and they are THE BEST. I’ve tried their other flavors and this one is by far the best. I am one of those people who loves a LITTLE sweet bite after dinner. I don’t want a big bowl of ice cream or a huge brownie, I just want a little nibble of something sweet. A small handful of these babies do the trick. They’re fantastic. I’ve gotten my mom, husband, and a couple friends hooked on these as well. The combination of the dark chocolate and chewy texture is incredible. Try them, if you haven’t already!

And now, onto my weekly faves!

This baked peaches and cream oatmeal looks delicious. I need to make it while the peaches are still fab!

This slow cooker chicken parmesan pasta is calling my name. I love the idea of this happening in a crock pot! Especially in this heat.

Love the idea of this skin food smoothie (look at that color!). My interest has been piqued.

This fig and lime shave ice with coconut is so freaking gorgeous and sounds amazingly refreshing. WANT.

This triple cherry berry watermelon smoothie looks so refreshing. I’ve got all the ingredients on hand…this is probably happening today.

This marble rainbow layer cake is not only one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen, but one of the most creative! Love it.

This paleo chocolate chip skillet cookie looks fab. I am a huge sucker for cookies in a skillet!

This thai noodle salad with glazed salmon has been on my mind since last week. Happening soon!

These fruit s’mores are so freaking pretty. LOVE the idea of fresh fruit in a s’more.

Happy Friday, friends! Xoxo.
