With Labor Day fast approaching this weekend, I thought it was appropriate to share a good grilling recipe.
You can impress your friends and family at the cookout, but without a lot of fuss. Ideal BBQ food, right?
These Chicken Bacon Ranch Burgers are just that. Perfection in every bite.
I almost prefer chicken burgers to beef, with some caveats of course. I like the leaner, less greasy eating experience of chicken, but it must, must, MUST not be dry and flavorless.
Chicken needs our help. It needs to be seasoned, and when you’re working with chicken breast, it needs help in the moisture department as well.
I have a few tricks up my sleeve to achieve a juicy yet still lean chicken burger!
Ingredients You Need for These Chicken Bacon Ranch Burgers:
- Ranch dressing
- Dried ranch seasoning
- Panko breadcrumbs
- Sharp cheddar cheese
- Ground chicken breast
- Cooked bacon
- Burger buns
- Toppings: avocado slices, tomatoes, pickles, red onions, greens, more ranch dressing (or other preferred condiments)
How to Make These Chicken Bacon Ranch Burgers:
- Preheat the grill or a large skillet over medium heat. Oil the grill grates or add a small drizzle of oil to the pan.
- To achieve maximum juiciness with these burgers, I mix in the following to the ground chicken: ranch dressing, dried ranch seasoning, breadcrumbs, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. The other key is to not overtax the chicken mixture – this results in dense, tough burgers. Mix gently just to incorporate all the ingredients.
- Form the mixture into four evenly-sized patties and then add them to the hot grill or pan.
- Cook for 5 minutes per side. During the last minute of cooking time, add the sliced cheese and bacon to the burgers and cover the grill or pan. This will help melt the cheese.
- To serve, toast your burger buns and then slather with ranch dressing (or other condiments of choice). Top with the burgers.
- Finish each burger with your favorite toppings. We love avocado slices, tomato, pickles, red onions, and greens. Serve while warm.
We help the chicken along by mixing in some flavorings and moisture directly into the patties. Between the ranch dressing and small amount of grated cheese inside the actual burger patties, we’re pretty much guaranteeing amazing flavor and moisture.
Don’t be afraid to doctor up those chicken patties! It makes a world of difference.

Labor Day signifies the end of summer for me. I know it’s not technically fall for another few weeks, but mentally, by the time the end of August rolls around, I’m checked out of summer.
My favorite way to send things off is by grilling up a delicious dinner and enjoying it outside with family and friends.
These Chicken Bacon Ranch Burgers will 100% be on the grilling menu!

Description
These Chicken Bacon Ranch Burgers are nothing short of spectacular! Juicy, moist chicken burgers bursting with ranch flavor and topped with gooey cheese and salty bacon. They are a leaner, lighter version of your favorite beef cheeseburger but without sacrificing an ounce of flavor or juiciness!
Ingredients
For the Burgers:
- Oil, for oiling grates or for skillet
- 2 tablespoons ranch dressing
- 1 tablespoon dried ranch seasoning
- 1/2 cup whole wheat panko breadcrumbs (or regular panko)
- 1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lb ground chicken breast
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 slices cooked bacon
To Serve:
- Burger buns
- Ranch dressing (or other condiments you prefer)
- Avocado slices
- Tomato slices
- Pickles
- Sliced red onions
- Lettuce or microgreens
Instructions
For the Burgers:
- Preheat the grill or a large skillet over medium heat. Oil the grill grates or add a small drizzle of oil to the pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the ranch dressing, dried ranch seasoning, breadcrumbs, shredded cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine and then gently fold in the ground chicken. Work the chicken into the other ingredients while resisting the urge to overmix (this results in a tough, dense burger).
- Form the mixture into four evenly-sized patties and then add them to the hot grill or pan.
- Cook for 5 minutes per side. During the last minute of cooking time, add the sliced cheese and bacon to the burgers and cover the grill or pan. This will help melt the cheese.
To Serve:
- Toast your burger buns and then slather with ranch dressing (or other condiments of choice). Top with the burgers.
- Finish each burger with your favorite toppings. We love avocado slices, tomato, pickles, red onions, and greens. Serve while warm.
