These Pumpkin Donuts with Maple Bourbon Glaze are a delicious and easy homemade treat that taste like fall! Fluffy, spiced donuts are baked and then dipped in an addicting maple and bourbon glaze. Absolutely delectable!
I love baking this time of year.
I know it is SO cliche to say that fall is my favorite season, but it truly is. The crisp, cool air, the start of school, and the seasonal recipes that come out this time of year are the best.
These Pumpkin Donuts with Maple Bourbon Glaze are no exception. They are simply fantastic.
While I typically prefer pumpkin in savory dishes (I am not a PSL girl), I DO love a pumpkin donut every now and then. They are sweet and spiced and oh so delicious. Having them once a year makes them extra special.
This is my homemade take, and they are really simple to make!
These donuts are baked rather than fried, which keeps things easy breezy. All you need is a donut pan and a few fall pantry staples to make these.
They taste just as good (if not better than) as your donut shop pastry.
A quick pumpkin-based batter is mixed together, spooned into a donut pan, and baked until fluffy and soft. The texture of these is a cross between a cake donut and a moist muffin. Rich but light, if that makes sense.
I add pumpkin spices to the batter as well to make everything sing with flavor.
The best part?
The maple bourbon glaze. It really sends these over the top. Sweet maple flavor with a touch of booziness. It is MAGIC.
That said, if you want to make these sans bourbon, you can just leave it out!
